Home PCs are situated in relatively insecure environments, are often not fully protected, are sometimes abused by younger members of the family and Home Office PCs often double up as the general family PC.

Most users start with good intentions and backup their important data to CDs, disks, USB devices or ZIP drives. Good intentions often do not last long and soon the inconvenience of having to remember and manually perform the backups means that they are not run or are only run very infrequently. Even when they are run regularly can you really be sure that the backups are good and that you could restore from them when the need arose?

With Backups4All, for only a few pounds per year, you can protect your data in a reliable and secure fashion and never have to remember to run a backup again, resting easy in the knowledge that you are protected and that you have easy access to your data 24/7 no matter where you are in the world.

Using the Backups4All service you simply define a scheduled backup set to include all of your important files. Once defined, your data will be reliably copied to our secure servers on whatever schedule you have set. Typically most users will set a schedule to backup files daily.

Each time your data is backed up you will receive an email from the data centre giving details of what was backed up and when, listing any errors which may require attention. If for any reason a scheduled backup is missed, because for example your PC was switched off, then the data centre will email you to let you know this has happened.

Multiple versions of files are stored on the backup servers allowing you to recover lost work.

All data is encrypted (scrambled) before transmission to the data centre and it is only decrypted (unscrambled) when you restore your data. This means that only you and anybody you have given your pass phrase to can access your data. Please note that if you lose your pass phrase, nobody will be able to recover your backups, including Backups4All.

Should you need to restore some files or folders, or even all of your data, you can do so from a web browser anytime, anywhere in the world.

Using Backups4All, it is possible to run scheduled backups to the laptop disk drive or removable media and then to upload all changes to the Backups4All servers as soon as an Internet connection is available. This is a great option for mobile users who only have occasional Internet access.
