Data Centre
Your data is securely and resiliently stored

London datacentre

Our equipment is located in highly specified data-centre facilities in London's Docklands. This is a network-connected, secure commercial facility for the housing of telecommunications and IT infrastructure.

Data centre checklist
  • Data centre facilities to a high technical specification
  • Power and Air-conditioning provided with built in redundancy for top quality continuity and reliability; this includes UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) and back-up generators
  • Multiple, diverse and redundant connectivity
  • 24 x 7 technical support
  • High levels of building and access security
  • Constant security in shared areas
  • High quality fire detection and suppression systems

Security

Security of your data is paramount to us. We fully recognize the value of your data to you, for your business continuity and for maintaining your service to your customers.

The site is manned 24/7 by trained Security / Operations staff to provide a deterrent to unauthorized access. CCTV, with digital data storage space, both internally and externally provides information to a security control centre on possible intrusion. Advanced proximity access control systems prevent unauthorized access to areas within the facility.

Data centre access control

Proximity cards control access to the site. These are programmed to allow access only to the necessary areas. Only authorized personnel will be granted access to the facility.

Power supplies

Sustainable power supplies are essential to the continuous operation of equipment. Power continuity is a prime objective at the data centre.

There is a sophisticated power distribution system for resilience. Multiple mains electricity feeds are supported by a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system with generator backup.

All of the power back-up systems are individually maintained and checked on a routine basis. Redundant n+1 (always one more than required) equipment provides spare capacity to enable maintenance and repairs without interruption to customer services.

Operating conditions

Business critical IT equipment depends on specialist facilities management. The data centre has more experience than any other neutral co-location facility in Europe to supply optimal operating conditions.

The facility operates computerized building management systems that monitor and remotely operate sensors covering electrical, mechanical, fire detection and water leakage systems.

State of the art facilities are provided offering complete confidence.

Servers

Our servers feature Intel processor technology, redundant arrays of disks (RAID 5) with hot standby units meaning that multiple drives could fail simultaneously without interruption to service; and dual redundant power supplies with independent connections to the electricity supply.

The disks employed are designed for a 100% duty cycle (i.e. never turned off) and offer a 1.2 million hour MTBF (mean time between failures of 137 years).

The operating platform employs server software technology from Microsoft.

Near real time data replication

All of your data are replicated from the main data centre to a UK geographically distant ISP (Internet Service Provider) in near real time. Meaning that secure copies of your data always exist in both locations for even more resilience.
